Mar 14, 2014 · I understand that a Micro SD card --adapter-- has a mechanical switch on the side for write-protection. However, I only have a USB card reader with no switches. The Micro SD card is plugged directly to the USB stick, and USB goes into the PC. Now, is the adapter with the write-protection switch required in order to format a micro SD card?

Jul 14, 2012 · I apologize if this is the wrong forum - I purchased a Fuze+, and with it a Sandisk 32 GB MicroSDHC card. I then bought a Sandisk Adapter to get from the Micro Card to my USB card reader. I then purchased a SanDisk MicroMate reader (SDDR - 117). But the Adapter won’t physically fit into the USB reader.
