Since 1957, the ASRC has been taking meteorological measurements at Whiteface Mountain. Currently, at the summit observatory measurements of temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed, and wind direction are made. The ASRC Whiteface Mountain Summit Observatory is located on the peak of Whiteface Mountain, Latitude N 44°21’58” and Longitude W 73°54’10” at an elevation of 1,483 m above sea level. Compared to the other Adirondack high peaks, Whiteface is relatively isolated.
