6 days ago · October 31, 2024. Walter Lewis Rogers, 84, of Huntington, IN, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on Saturday, April 20, 1940, in Dunkirk, OH to the late Rev. Walter & Mary M. (Markley) Rogers. Walt was a 1958 graduate of Lancaster High School.

Audio Article. October 22, 2024. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) stocked rainbow trout in Fort Wayne and Huntington Oct. 18–19. Shoaff Park and Spy Run Creek in Fort Wayne will each receive 200 fish, and Memorial Park in Huntington will receive 300 fish. The stocked fish will average 12 to 14 inches in length.

October 15, 2024. The Huntington North rolled through their first two matches of the Madison- Grant tennis sectional last week. The Vikings opened the tournament with a 5-0 win over Blackford on Oct. 2, then defeated Marion by the same score Oct. 4. HN fell in the championship match Oct. 5, losing to Mississinewa, 4-1.

Oct 22, 2024 · The Huntington Fire Department officially put a new engine into service following a recent truck blessing and pushing-in ceremony. The $917,000 engine replaces an aging 2013 model on which repair costs were escalating each year, Fire Chief Tony Johnson said. “It was a cost benefit to replace it now, instead of waiting any longer,” he said.

This year, the festival’s theme is “Chamber Celebrating 100 Years,” in honor of the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce’s establishment a century ago — when it was officially established under its current name in March 1924.
