A Bengaluru woman was fatally struck by a Mercedes Benz car driven by a drunk driver on November 2. The accused has been arrested and charged with culpable homicide.

Bengaluru's Kengeri traffic police reportedly arrested the 20-year-old following his attempt to flee the spot as he was caught by bystanders who allegedly also thrashed him. He has been remanded to 14 days in judicial custody with charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

The incident happened when Sandhya was trying to cross the road. Dhanush, who had drunk too much alcohol, lost control of his vehicle and hit her, resulting in her death.

The 20-year-old accused was arrested and booked for drunk and rash driving, and culpable homicide not amounting to murder by the Bengaluru police.

The accused is identified as Dhanush Paramesh, son of a businessman Paramesh, a resident of Bengaluru’s Nagarbhavi. He was arrested and sent to prision.
