NEW DELHI (AP) — The Indian government plans a new law to punish those making hoax bomb threats against flights, which disrupt the schedules of airlines and cause massive inconvenience to thousands of passengers.

Bomb threats are causing disruptions, diversions and delays for scores of flights on multiple Indian airlines. Indian authorities said they were looking to increase punishments for perpetrators.

India vowed to punish those responsible for hoax bomb threats that have disrupted dozens of flights and caused airlines huge financial losses.
