Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry says that he plans to call the Legislature into a special session in November, marking the third such gathering this year, with the hopes of overhauling the state’s current tax system that the Republican said is failing residents.

The most recent special session of the West Virginia Legislature began, but it did not end, on Monday, Sept. 30, 2024. Legislators will return on Sunday, Oct. 6, which is also the first day of the October interim meetings.

The West Virginia Legislature gaveled in Monday for its second special session of the year, but consideration of Gov. Jim Justice’s request for a 5% cut in personal income tax rates and a childcare tax credit will have to wait until next week.
