A judge has ruled in favor of a UK woman who alleges that she was terminated from her job due to her pregnancy.

A UK woman was awarded £28,000 after being unfairly dismissed from her job for revealing her pregnancy upon returning from maternity leave.

A mother has won more than £28,000 in compensation after her boss sacked her for getting pregnant while on maternity leave. Nikita Twitchen, 27, was preparing to return to her office admin post after having a baby when she discovered she was pregnant again.

The woman said she informed her boss that she was expecting another child which left him off guard. Her maternity leave ended in March 2022, but her company didn't reach out to discuss her return. She said she emailed her boss on April 4 about holiday entitlement, but he didn't respond. She then followed up on April 11 and 18.

Nikita Twitchen was preparing to return to her office administration assistant at First Grade Projects when she lost her job. The woman started her role at the Pontypridd-based business back in October 2021 and became pregnant not long after, heading on maternity leave in June 2022.
