More areas have been placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 as Julian (international name: Krathon) has intensified into a tropical storm.

Julian intensified into a tropical storm on Saturday and was assigned the international name Krathon (Thai for santol). State weather bureau PAGASA is not ruling out the possibility of the storm reaching super typhoon strength.
