As Russia made progress in revising its nuclear policy amid its war with Ukraine, North Korea vowed to never give up its own nuclear weapons despite demands from the West.

NATO members have provided diplomatic and military aid support to Ukraine throughout the ongoing war after Russia invaded the nation in February 2022.

The Kremlin said on Thursday that changes to Russia's nuclear weapons doctrine outlined by President Vladimir Putin should be considered a signal to Western countries that there will be consequences if they participate in attacks on Russia.

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, amendments to the nuclear doctrine have been prepared and will be legally formalized soon in Russia. He stated that the evolving situation in Ukraine necessitated a change in the doctrine.
