U.K.-based art dealer and gallery owner Aidan Meller created the Ai-Da humanoid robot, depicted as a woman with a black bob and dressed in a t-shirt and denim overalls. The robot draws and paints through a combination of cameras in its eyes, AI algorithms and a robotic arm.

Sotheby's will hold an auction later this month for "AI God," a painting created by Ai-Da, a humanoid robot artist.

In a first for Sotheby’s, the famed auction house will sell a painting made by a humanoid robot — and it’s expected to fetch up to a whopping $180,000. The robot, known as Ai-Da, created the painting of renowned mathematician and computer scientist Alan Turing entitled “AI God” with its own hydraulically powered hands.

Sotheby’s aims to make history this month by selling its first-ever artwork made by a humanoid robot. A.I. God. Portrait of Alan Turig by Ai-Da is predicted to fetch six figures, according to the auction house.
