A student athlete is no longer enrolled at Gettysburg College after a racial slur was etched onto a teammate’s chest, school officials say.

A disturbing incident at Gettysburg College has left students and faculty reeling after a sophomore became the victim of a hate crime. A fellow student-athlete, whom the victim had considered a friend, allegedly carved a racial slur into their chest, an act that has raised serious concerns about safety and inclusivity on campus.

Earlier this month, a Gettysburg College student used a box cutter to write a racial slur on another student's chest during a social gathering on campus. The incident is under campus investigation.
