Gardaí (Irish police) are to search a house and surrounding grounds in County Louth as they investigate the disappearance of an eight-year-old boy. Kyran Durnin was reported missing from his home in Drogheda in August.

Kyran was reported missing from his home on 30 August but gardaí believe the child vanished some months before that.

In a statement Gardai say the purpose of the searches is to discover any evidence which might provide them with information on Kyran's current whereabouts or what has happened to he missing eight-year-old.

Gardai in Dundalk are currently searching a house in the Emer Terrace area of Dundalk in connection with the disappearance of Kyran Durnin. According to gardai Kyran Durnin, who would now be 8 years old is missing, presumed dead.

Kyran was reported missing from his home on 30 August but gardaí believe the child vanished some months before that.

Gardaí have sealed off a home as part of the search for missing Kyran Durnin. The missing 8-year-old is presumed dead as investigators took control over a private property in order to perform a full formal search of the home and dig in the garden.
