Vir Das and Diljit Dosanjh have emerged as two of the most talked about celebs in the recent past due to their widespread recognition globally. Vir Das, a stand-up comedian, is currently on a world tour and will soon become the first Indian to host the International Emmy Awards.

Actor-comedian Vir Das has hit back at accusations of "denigrating India" at international events. The allegations were leveled by a social media user named Kartikeya Tanna, who also called Das and singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh "very mediocre artists.

Comedian-actor Vir Das clapped back at an author questioning his and Diljit Dosanjh’s global popularity. In his post on X, Kartikeya Tanna, the author, called them “very, very mediocre artists” and further underlined that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the Jigra singer as a “guy from Punjab.”

Actor and stand-up comedian Vir Das responded to an X user who said that he and singer Diljit Dosanjh are 'denigrating India' at global events.

Reacting to remark that he is puncturing “India’s soft power”, Vir Das said “audience is mature to know honest conversations are the highest form of love”.
