Amazon has just released a firmware update for the 10th and 11th generation Kindle e-readers. The 5.17.1 firmware is only available for older models. The update includes a few small features. The "Whispersync for Books" setting within Device Options is now simply called "Sync.

Amazon just announced four new Kindle e-readers. The Colorsoft Signature Edition is the first color Kindle, there’s a new Kindle Scribe note-taker, a faster version of its most popular Paperwhite, and a new entry-level Kindle.

Amazon’s best-selling Kindle, the Paperwhite, has also received some updates. It’s been given 25% faster page turns, which benefits the Kindle Library or the Store with a more responsive experience. It’s also been bumped up to seven inches but is still the slimmest Kindle on the market, with up to an impressive three-month battery life.

Amazon also unveiled a refreshed $399 Kindle Scribe with new note-taking features and an updated $159 Kindle Paperwhite.

Earlier this week, Amazon refreshed its entire Kindle lineup while adding a new color model to the mix. The updated entry-level Kindle ($109.99) and Kindle Paperwhite ($159.99) are available now, while the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition and updated Kindle Scribe will launch on October 30th and December 4th, respectively.
