Third time I visited this light house and have never been disappoint. This is a great place to visit with family, couples or alone. Lot's to see and do in the area. Very enjoyable. Full review by Tim N

We could not walk up into the lighthouse since they are doing restoration, but seeing it is still amazing. The museum is very informative and to see the video on how they moved the lighthouse is amaz… Full review by 777christya

Although the lighthouse is under restoration, you can still walk up close and take pictures. We were here when they were moving the lighthouse and came back to see it now. The Museum of the Sea is ri… Full review by katem j

Right now the governor of North Carolina is not making another announcement until the end of September as far as any new guidelines with COVID. The lighthouse itself is open year …

Right now the governor of North Carolina is not making another announcement until the end of September as far as any new guidelines with COVID. The lighthouse itself is open year round but right now and for the foreseeable future you cannot climb it due to COVID. One more thing if you get the chance check out Bodie Island lighthouse. It’s about an 1 or so away. It’s not as tall as Hatteras but with the scenery around it, much more beautiful.

It’s closed for climbs for the season. You can still go to it and see it but just can’t climb it.

is there a fee to climb the lighthouse or park?
A:
Yes there is a fee, $8 person. Also check to see if climbs are available. They stopped climbs for the season on Columbus Day.

We were there this past week and Hatteras Island is open for visitors but Oracoke Island is not.
